What makes CarbonCraft™ cookware different?
CarbonCraft™ cookware is built from 100% premium carbon steel — no coatings, no chemicals, no mill scale ever. Unlike aluminum, stainless steel, or cheap nonstick pans, our products are designed to give you:
- Clean, non-toxic cooking → You control the seasoning, not synthetic coatings.
- Exceptional heat retention & distribution → Cooks evenly, prevents hot spots.
- Durability that lasts for generations → No warping, peeling, or breakdown over time.
- Versatility → Works on the stovetop, oven, grill, smoker, or broiler.
Why choose carbon steel over aluminum cookware?
Aluminum cookware is lightweight and inexpensive, but it comes with trade-offs:
- Leaching risk → High-acid foods (like tomatoes) can cause aluminum to leach into food.
- Weaker heat retention → Aluminum heats quickly but cools fast and develops hot spots.
- Not naturally nonstick → Often coated with chemicals to compensate.
Carbon steel, by contrast:
- Provides superior searing and caramelization for better flavor
- Holds steady heat longer for consistent cooking
- Creates a natural nonstick surface without toxic coatings
Why choose carbon steel over stainless steel cookware?
Stainless steel is durable but less efficient for cooking:
- Poor heat conductivity → Stainless heats unevenly unless bonded with aluminum cores.
- Food sticks easily → Requires oil or butter to prevent sticking.
- Lower heat responsiveness → Doesn’t adapt as quickly when changing cooking temperatures.
CarbonCraft™ carbon steel advantages:
- Transfers and retains heat faster and more evenly
- Develops a naturally seasoned, nonstick surface over time
- Performs beautifully at high heat, unlike most stainless pans
Is CarbonCraft™ cookware non-toxic and safe?
Absolutely. CarbonCraft™ products are made from pure, premium carbon steel and are 100% free of:
- PFOA
- PTFE (Teflon)
- BPA
- PFAS
- Any synthetic nonstick coatings
Your food touches only clean steel and the natural layer of seasoning you build yourself — making it one of the safest, healthiest cooking options available.
Will carbon steel make my food taste better?
Yes — and here’s why:
- High heat tolerance → Achieve restaurant-quality sears and crusts
- Even cooking → No hot spots, no uneven browning
- Natural seasoning layer → Adds subtle depth of flavor over time
Unlike coated pans, which can break down and release toxins, carbon steel improves with use — creating better results the longer you cook with it.

How to Care for your CarbonCraft™ cookware.
Every CarbonCraft™ piece is made from premium, clean American carbon steel and hand-finished with care. Because each item is individually crafted and seasoned by hand, natural surface variations may occur in the steel's texture or finish.
These subtle differences are part of what make every product truly unique - a reflection of honest materials, authentic craftsmanship, and the hands that built it. While no two pieces are exactly alike, each one meets our uncompromising standards for quality, performance, and durability.
Why does CarbonCraft™ cookware ship pre-seasoned?
We pre-season every piece with one layer of our all-natural seed oil free Pro-Grade Seasoning Wax to:
- Protect the steel during shipping
- Begin the natural nonstick foundation
- Get you cooking faster
However, for best results, we recommend 1–3 additional layers of seasoning before first use. Proper care is simple and ensures your cookware lasts a lifetime.
Before First Use
- Wash your cookware with warm water.
- Dry completely with a towel.
- Preheat pan in the over at 200°F for 10 minutes.
- Apply pea-sized amount of CarbonCraft™ Pro-Grade Seasoning Wax or high smoke point oil to the surface.
- Rub in well and buff aggressively until the steel looks dry.
- Bake at 425-450°F for 1 hour, then let it cool inside the oven.
- Repeat 2–3 times for the ultimate nonstick foundation. (1-2 times for Pro Grade Seasoning Wax)
Pro Tip: Less is more - thin coats are the secret. If you can see the oil, you've used too much.
Everyday Use & Cleaning
- Avoid soap → Hot water + a gentle scrub brush or chainmail scrubber works best.
- Dry immediately → Prevents surface rust.
- Lightly oil after cleaning → Maintains seasoning and protects your pan.
Cooking Tips
- Preheat your pan slowly for even heat distribution.
- Use a small amount of oil for a slick cooking surface.
- Avoid cooking acidic foods (like tomatoes) in the first few uses — wait until seasoning builds.
If Your Pan Rusts (It happens just like with cast iron!)
- Gently scrub off the rust with a fine steel wool pad.
- Rinse, dry completely, and re-season.
- Your pan will be as good as new.
Storage Tips
- Store in a dry place to avoid moisture exposure.
- If stacking pans, place a paper towel or cloth between them to protect seasoning.
